The Nova Scotia Minor Football Association (NSMFA) is a registered Association in the Province of Nova Scotia, whose purpose is to promote and grow the sport of Minor Football in the Province of Nova Scotia.  The NSMFA also organizes all of the Leagues for Minor Football in Nova Scotia.  Members of the NSMFA are Minor Football Assocations that are located in all corners of the Province.

Football Canada is the National Governing Body of Canadian Amateur Football, which represents tackle, touch and flag components including players, coaches, officials and administrators.  Through the guidance of the Board of Directors and the National Office, Football Canada’s mission is “to initiate, sustain, and encourage programs, services and activities targeted at all levels, from the novice to the elite, which foster safe and ethical participation in amateur football.

KidSport™ is a national children's program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.  KidSport™ Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.

In operation since 1994, KidSport™ Nova Scotia has assisted over 10,000 children totalling over $2 Million.  In 2009 KidSport™ Nova Scotia allocated over $446,000 to more than 1749 children from Sydney to Yarmouth.

Speaking of the weather... Halifax Regional Municipaity (HRM) has a strict policy regarding field conditions and how they relate to the weather.  If the weather is inclement, most of their natural grass fields are closed to preserve their condition throughout the year.
